Primer vs primer Benefit porfessional:Maybelline baby skin

Before I start with the blog post I just want to say sorry for being so quiet on the blog front for so long I promise to get better this year infact I already have my next post planned.

Now for todays post and it's a beauty product smack down primer vs primer benefit vs maybelline, so which one is the best?

First off lets talk about Benefit's porefessional the 'pro balm to minimize pores' retailing at £24.50 for 22ml this primer can be used under or over top of makeup.

This primer is at the more expensive end of the scale and is a flesh tone in colour however applies colourless and sinks into the skin easily leaving a smooth base ready for makeup to be applied over the top.

I've gone through about 3 tubes of porfessional now and I am currently using this mini one which I got in my Birchbox at the weekend, my makeup applies evenly over the top of porefessional and I am left with a very flawless face.
To make the test even I decided I would wear them both at work over a period of 6 hours on consecutive days and see which one held up the best.
After checking my face at lunch time my makeup was still flawless and perfect with the porfessional underneath with other primers I have tried before I have noticed shine by lunchtime, however I checked my face again around about the 6th hour of wearing my makeup and I did notice some shine on my forehead and my nose, however nowhere near as much as other primers I have tried in the past, this is a very good primer and definitely  one of the best ones I have used and even though it is expensive I think it's worth the money.

Now lets move onto Maybelline's baby skin 'instant pore eraser' I never even heard this primer was coming out unlike when the baby lips launched perhaps I have been living under a rock over christmas and new year.

This primer retails at £7.99 for 22ml which is 3x cheaper than Benefit's for the same amount but is it any good?
Unlike porfessional which is a more cream based formula baby skin is a clear gel based primer similar to smashbox photofinish in texture.

When I first applied this I was very impressed with the results rather than sink into the skin I felt like there was a slight film over my skin which created a perfect base for applying foundation over the top. My makeup looked flawless after I had finished applying it and given that I had no previous expectation of the product before using it I was very impressed by the final result.

I forgot to check my makeup in the middle of the day but remembered after I had finished work and was very surprised to see that my makeup had not moved an inch all day I had no shine whatsoever I was shocked to say the least as I have never found a primer that has kept my makeup picture perfect all day before.

It's pretty close between these two primers as they are both amazing but based on price and the fact that I didn't need a single touch up I would have to say Maybelline baby skin just beats out Porefessional.

I hope you enjoyed reading this blog post and I will be back soon with a first impressions xoxo

Look beauty products review

So I was shopping in superdrug recently and came across a brand called Look beauty, which is the same people that write Look magazine I've always been a fan of the magazine so I decided to try out some of the products from them as well.
I picked up the foundation concealer and a bronzer from the collection.
The airbrush foundation really does give you flawless looking skin it's full coverage which is perfect for me as I do suffer from breakout's from time to time,  it's quite a thick foundation but I've found mixing it with a little bit of moisturiser helps and you still get full coverage from it I just apply it with a foundation brush and then use a beauty blender to buff it all into my skin.
The only downside to this product is the pump only seems to work sporadically which can be annoying but that could just be the bottle I have. This foundation retails at £12.00

The concealer palette comes in 2 different shades light/medium and medium/dark I have the one in medium dark it's a really creamy consistency and you get loads inside I've just been using my fingers and going between both colours and applying it that way it conceals every blemish on my face with just a little bit this palette is going to last me ages. It retails for £8.00

I am in love with the shade of this blusher it's a beautiful shimmery coraly peach colour and perfect for summer it's called flirt there are 5 different colours available with some really pretty pink colours to choose from, this is highly pigmented and a little bit goes a long way so be careful when applying it it's best to start with a little bit and build it up to the colour you want.

I have to say I am really impressed with the products I have tried so far and excited to try more they have a full collection of products to choose from which are available from superdrug or http://www.lookbeauty.co.uk happy shopping everyone xoxo

Whats in my JustFab bag?

Want to take a sneak peak of what's in my bag? Well now you can I recently purchased a new bag from JustFab UK and thought it was about time to de-clutter because lets face it we all carry so much stuff we don't need in our bags so here's a peak of what I carry round in my bag on a day to day basis.

This bag is the Grand Central station from Just Fab UK, I really wanted a new light coloured but still neutral bag for spring and summer so I went for this one and I'm not disappointed it's a beautiful colour and super durable with a removable pouch inside the lining.

So what's inside I hear you ask
First of all my purse it's perfect for carrying around all my store cards and money for those unplanned shopping trips, secondly my iPhone I literally cannot live without it as I'm forever checking Facebook, twitter, youtube and instagramming photos or snapchatting friends I also keep numerous lists and video ideas on here to.

When the sun does decide to shine, which is very rarely in the UK I have my Dolce and Gabbana sunglasses I love the pink frames on these and they were a total steal from TK Maxx the case is from Primark.

I also keep a teasing brush which is by Denman a mini can of hairspray by Charles Worthington and a Neal's Yard hand-cream, which smells of honey it's also super moisturising.

As I'm a beauty blogger and youtuber my makeup tends to change on a day to day basis depending on what blush and lipstick lipgloss combo I decide to wear that day but as of right now I have the Revlon nearly naked powder and foundation, the new Maybelline mega plush volume mascara which I have been loving this month, Mac blush in Dainty my Kate Moss for Rimmel lipstick in colour number 101 a Soap and Glory lipgloss in candy gloss and of course my newest purchase from Look beauty the same people who bring you Look magazine the make me blush bronzer in shade number 2. I also have a couple of brushes by elf UK my angled blush brush and kabuki powder brush. Of course my makeup bag wouldn't be complete without Mac's fix plus which I use to set my makeup and spritz on throughout the day to refresh my face and a travalo of perfume which currently contains Daisy by Marc Jacobs.

So that sums up everything that's in my bag as always thank you for reading I hope you enjoyed seeing what was inside my bag and if you have a blog post of what's inside your bag leave me a link in the comments section I would love to read it until next time xoxo

Impress press on manicures first impression

I'll admit when impress press on manicures were first released I was more than a little dubious as to the quality and if they would actually work they reminded me of sticky nails I used to use as a child, which typically stayed on for around 5 minutes before they would be all over my parents house.

I decided to take the plunge and purchase some after seeing a few reviews on youtube and I've got to say I am impressed sets retail from £6.99 to £8.99 depending on design. The ones I have were £8.99

I decided to pick up the flowery pink set see picture.

Impress promises a fast and easy application lasting up to a week you get 24 nails in 12 sizes.

The first thing I did was to empty all the nails on the table and group them into pairs of the same size and then try them on my nails to get the perfect fit. Impress recommends going a size down if you can't get the perfect fit for your nail.

I like that the nails are quite short and squared off at the ends which makes doing everyday tasks simple there is nothing worse than having a set of nails which are so long it makes everyday tasks such as typing and using your phone near impossible.

They set also includes a nail wipe which you use before applying to your real nails and an on the go mini nail file which is great if you are out and need to do your nails fast.

overall I am very happy with these nails they look really pretty and are fast and easy to apply I will deffinatly be purchasing more.

The finished result a perfect manicure in minutes you get a beautiful nail design which if your like me and rubbish at nail art this is the perfect alternative.

Revlon lip butters review

So Revlon lip butters finally landed in the UK after what seemed like the longest wait ever so I picked up 4 strawberry shortcake, peach parfait, lollipop and sweet tart.
After seeing a lot of swatches and reviews on you tube I was so excited to finally be able to purchase these lip butters and as promised I wasn't disappointed the formulation is smooth and creamy and the colour payoff is great I got 4 of the more pink colours 2 neutral and 2 more bold colours.
Peach parfait and strawberry shortcake are the 2 lip butters that are more suited to wearing during the day, peach parfait is a lovely bronzey colour with a hint of glitter in it and strawberry shortcake is a gorgeous barbie coloured pink with no shimmer or glitter in it. I love wearing these colours when I am working or just want a neutral coloured lip for during the day.

Sweet tart and Lollipop are defiantly more on the bold end of the spectrum, sweet tart is a gorgeous neon pink lip colour which is hot for spring and summer 2012 I've had a lot of compliments wearing this colour it suits most skintones. Lollipop is a deep magenta coloured pink and not something I would normally go for but I love it and wore it out on a night out recently and got a lot of compliments the only downside 2 these 2 colours is that after wearing them for a while whilst eating and drinking they fade a bit in the middle of the lip and you are left with a bright pink line around the outside of the lips which can look a little silly if you don't notice.
Overall these are great products and come in a great selection of colours 14 in total they retail at £7.99 each I'm excited to try more colours.

Here are swatches of all the colours I have.

Review top drawer eye pencils

Hey everyone so I'm sorry I haven't written a blog post in soooo long I just haven't had the time to fit in filming editing working socialising and writing blogs into my week at all so I have a little bit of free time today so I thought I would pen a blog post for you all about the Front cover Top drawer eye pencil collection, which I purchased just after christmas it was on half price at Boots from £16.00 to £8.00 I have never tried any of their products before but I had been after a set of coloured eye pencils for a while and hadn't found anything that I liked that much so when I saw them I thought they were great colours and so I purchased it.

So here is what the set looks like

So as you can see it comes with 6 coloured pencils a black kohl liner and a dual sharpener the pencils vary in terms of cream mettalic shimmer and glitter. I also photographed some swatches on my arm so I will insert those down below aswell and then run through the colours and my impressions of them all.

From left to right colours Moccasin Pine needle Drifter Purple durple Chalk and Lemon
Moccasin is a very creamy bronze brown shimmery shade this is perfect for wearing during the day on the waterline or all over the lid it's a very neutral colour and super blendable.
Pine needle is a gorgeous turquoise blue colour I can see myself wearing this in spring summer to add a pop of colour to my eyes however it is not as creamy as the other colours so a little harder to blend.
Drifter is a lovely duck egg blue colour it's really blendable and creamy with a metallic finish another spring summer colour here.
Purple durple is a lovely deep matte purple colour perfect for wearing on a night out, again it's not as blendable and creamy as the other colours but looks great with a smokey eye.
Ice is a gorgeous creamy and super blendable pale silvery metallic colour this is by far my favourite pencil in the colection it's got a futuristic kind of feel to it and sure to get attention when worn I haven't seen a colour like this before as it's more than your standard silver I think this would look great worn all over the lid with a flick of liquid liner for a simple for attention grabbing look.
The last colour Lemon is a pale goldish lemon colour and has a lot of sparkle and glitter to it the payoff doesn't give you much colour but does add a lot of glitter to your eyes again really blendable and creamy a definate for anyone who loves having sparkly eyes.
The black kohl pencil however is not as great as the other pencils in the set when applied to the waterline it doesn't give you and intense black line to the eyes it's pretty pale and also a bit scratchy to apply I prefer my pencils to be soft and super black if I'm going for an eyeliner but that is jut personal preference if you prefer a more subtle black line when lining your eyes this would be a good pencil for you. Overall I give this set 4 out of 5 stars just because of the black pencil not being as good as I had hopes oh but on the plus side it does have a smudger on the other end which works really well.
So I hope you guys enjoyed the blog post It's really long I hope not to ramblly ttyl xoxo
Ps for more beauty fixes check out my youtube channel linked above.

My top 5 nail picks for Autumn and Winter

Now the seasons have changed and were heading into the dark months of Winter it's time to update my nail polish collection with some darker colours. These are my top 5 picks for nail colours this winter.

The first is this really pretty girly pinkish purple colour it's really pretty and glittery and looks great when paired with dark colours especially black I believe it was a limited edition shade by No7 last winter it's called Milan and I think it's the perfect shade for winter as it's not to bright links the pinks I've been wearing in summer.

The next one is a beautiful deep red colour also by No7 called Salsa Isaw this colour and fell in love with it as it reminded me of christmas and as christmas is just around the corner I had to get it I think it looks great on and I've been wearing a lot as a day colour and got a lot of compliments on it.

The third one in my top picks is a beautiful deep purple colour by Revlon called Facets of fushia I believe it is from the Britains next top model collection although I haven't worn it yet I think it's gonna be great with a dark piar of skinny jeans and a biker jacket it has huge chunks of glitters in it and I think it will give a girly edge to a biker chick look.

Next up is a shimmery gold colour by collection 2000 called Fudge brownie a name so good I could eat it, but in all seriousness this is a beautiful colour and I would pair this with a nude coloured shirt and a piar of jeans it's gives a great pop of colour to a slightly more neutral outfit.

Finally the last colour is a deep blue colour by Rimmel called Blue me away what a super cute name it's very shimmery and in the right lighting it gives off a slight purple tinge, this colour has been in my collection for nearly 3 years now and it's always my go to colour in winter.
